Hello Star

Inspired by Hello Dolly, this plugin works as a reminder of which constellation/star is visible for the current month.
It shows information about the 88 officially recognized constellations by the International Astronomical Union (IAU).
If a constellation has one of the 28 brightest stars, the line shown is designated with an ‘*’.
It is a nice reminder for astronomy amateur developers like myself who wants to be reminded of the constellations and stars that are most visible in a given month.
You can view Nasa’s Picture of the Day, control the color of text and background in the ‘Hello Star’ settings page under “Settings” menu.
I am using NASA API demo_key for retrieving the daily Picture of the Day (apod) image. The demo key has a very low rate limits, if you want to keep apod, I recommend you get your own API key as described here:

Download & install the zip archive
The plugin package installer can be downloaded from the WP2E project tab called “code”.
1 – Select the version to download if this option is available otherwise the “latest” version of the main plugin will be used.
2 – After downloading the zip archive install the plugin package installer in you local environment and activate the script from the plugin list.
3 – Under the section “Plugins” of the admin dashboard you should see a new “Dependencies & Licenses” link. Follow the instructions from this panel to finalize the installation of the missing dependencies.
- Give a name to your project
- Download the Installer Package
- Install & activate the plugin locally
- Install the suggested dependencies
Tips: Use the WP2E panel to add/suggest new dependencies to the local installation. Press F5 in the list of dependencies if the changes are not displayed right away.
